Rainforests are home for more than half the Earth's animals and plants. This incredibly important ecosystem plays an important role in global climate storing huge amounts of carbon. But in the last 50 years one third of it has been cut down and its area halved to only 6% of the earth's surface, impacting on the global biodiversity. Every second we lose and area of 2 football fields due to deforestation, and if this rate continues we will have 20% of the current rainforest by 2050. Through reforestation and education projects we can conserve and increase its area.
